A four-disc DVD set of the nine international concerts held on July 2nd as part of Rosetta Stone Outlet Live 8, an initiative organized by Bob Geldof to pressure the G8 to address extreme poverty in Africa, will be released on November 8th. A "generous" royalty from sales of the package -- which features performances from artists ranging from Paul McCartneys duet with U2s Bono on "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" to Pink Floyds reunion -- will go to the Band Aid Trust for African relief.The first three discs focus on the shows at Londons Hyde Park and at Philadelphias Museum of Art, with highlights from the events in Paris, Rome, Berlin, Tokyo, Moscow, Toronto and Johannesburg. In addition to the McCartney/Bono concert opener, duets include McCartney and George Michael, Stevie Wonder and Maroon 5s Adam Levine, and Coldplay and Richard Ashcroft. The third disc closes with the entire Cheap Rosetta Stone V3 Hyde Park lineup performing the Beatles "Hey Jude." The final disc features a behind-the-scenes documentary of the London show, Pink Floyds reunion rehearsal and other extras."I hope this will be the biggest-selling DVD of all time," says Geldof. "It deserves to be. More importantly, perhaps, it should be, for it will help us achieve our goal of changing the lives of the extreme poor for the better and making our generation the one that helped end the disgrace of poverty. His first album forSilvertone, 1991s Damn Right, Ive Got The Blues,featured appearances by several of the artists Rosetta Stone German who had championedhim, and won Guy his first Grammy.Still, some things never change. Its still a painful memory forGuy as he recalls the time several years ago when a young discjockey in his hometown of Baton Rouge approached him at the tablewhere he was autographing copies of Damn Right -- hisfirst gold record -- and told him that he loved the album butwasnt allowed to play it on the air because of Guys skin color.But through the bad times and the worse, Guys never been a man tohold grudges. He just keeps pressing on."Being black and a blues player, man, you just hope you can getsomething out there that radio stations will play," Guy says ofHeavy Love. "The biggest challenge for me is making arecord that they cant refuse to play. Because I got a job to do,man. Its a burden thats been put on my shoulders by Howlin Cheap Rosetta Stone V3 Wolf,Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Lightnin Hopkins, Jimmy Reed... all those guys. Im trying to carry the torch for them."
